Sarah Sanders Claims Trump Was Chosen By God to Be President Read

According to Sarah Sanders, God called President Donald Trump to the presidency. Trump was God’s chosen candidate, and so he unexpectedly won the 2016 presidential election.

“I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president, and that’s why he’s there,” Sanders said. “I think he has done a tremendous job in supporting a lot of the things that people of faith really care about.

Sanders was being interviewed by David Brody and Jennifer Wishon from the Christian Broadcasting Network on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, when the question of God’s hand in the election came up. They also asked her to respond to Nancy Pelosi’s declaration that building a physical barrier along the southern border of the United States in order to help stem the flood of illegal immigrants was “immoral.” Sanders said Pelosi’s comment was “ridiculous.

“The idea that protecting the people of your country, which is the fundamental duty of being president of the United States, would in some way be immoral is a ridiculous charge,” Sander said. Border security and immigration has become a flash point in Washington. The government had its longest shutdown from December 2018 to January 2019 due to a disagreement over funds for building the wall. Trump had asked for $5.7 billion to start construction of a wall, an amount that totals less than 0.1 percent of the current federal budget. The House of Representatives, however, is controlled by Democrats who claim to find any sort of physical barrier at the border to be morally repugnant. When told of Trump’s request for funding, Pelosi stated that he would receive “nothing for the wall.” The resulting government shutdown lasted for 35 days and delayed the annual State of the Union address. Whether or not Trump was actually chosen by God or not, it is clear that he is here to stay. Only time will tell if the second half of his presidency carries any sort of divine sign or if it will again be characterized by Washington fighting while the country watches exhaustedly.
